About Me

My name is Jack Ryan and I am a portrait photographer based between Southern California and Hawaii. Growing up snowboarding, surfing and backpacking, my passion for photography naturally began through capturing memories of me and my friends on different trips and adventures. I grew to love the idea of capturing candid moments of people doing what they love which lead to my current lifestyle portrait photography approach.

Through studying Documentary Filmmaking at Chapman, my eye for natural moments and candid experiences has evolved with my main goal of making my clients feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera. Growing up not enjoying having my picture taken I can understand what it means to be uncomfortable in front of the camera and I am very aware of that in my approach making sure each shoot is an experience tailored directly to each client.
